KUALA LUMPUR – Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzir is upset with the MCA leadership that is urging Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to resign.

He said MCA should respect Umno as a component partner in the coalition.

He explained without the help from Umno, MCA wouldn’t win even a single seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).

“Please respect Umno a little, during the election Umno was the one who worked a lot for them.

“In Penang we worked hard for MCA, don’t insult Umno.

“If you don’t like it, don’t ask (Zahid) to resign, even if you don’t like it, many of the seats they (MCA) won were in Malay areas,” he said to the media at Menara Dato Onn, World Trade Centre (WTC), here.

MCA stated that the party had lost its confidence towards the BN chairman’s leadership.

MCA Secretary-General Datuk Chong Sin Woon said Zahid needed to relinquish the position of BN chairman in an honorable manner to make way for a new leader to take over the leadership of BN and thus determine the direction of the party.
