PUTRAJAYA - A letter on social media claiming all 30 BN MPs support the Pakatan Harapan (PH), naming Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the prime minister has gone viral.

The letter dated Nov 22 and signed by BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that the matter was agreed at the BN Supreme Council meeting on Tuesday.

"Patik (Zahid) as BN chairman informed the Yang di-Pertuan Agong that the party together with 30 MPs gave full confidence and support Tambun MP, Anwar to be appointed as the 10th Prime Minister," said Zahid in the letter.

The letter shared by former Umno Secretary-General Tan Sri Annuar Musa on his Facebook on Wednesday alleged that the letter was sent to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah by Zahid.

Zahid in the letter further stated he has received a mandate from 29 other BN MPs to negotiate, decide and agree on a coalition between BN and any political party for the formation of a government.

"I would also like to inform you that any written document whether in the form of a letter or declaration by any of the 30 BN MPs naming other MPs as the 10th Prime Minister other than the above (Anwar) is invalid and not to be considered," he said.

In the meantime, Annuar urged that a police report should be made against Zahid for allegedly trying to deceive the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

"The BN chairman claimed and informed the Agong that he had presided over a BN meeting and decided that all 30 MPs agreed to support Anwar as PM.

"On the contrary, we were informed that BN decided not to support any candidate. Who is lying here?" he asked.
