Tun M to focus on writing history after defeat
SHAH ALAM - Pejuang chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad admits the defeat of the party in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) which replaced Pejuang in the election lost all 125 contested areas and lost the chance to become the opposition.
He expressed his sorrow over the party’s defeat but welcomed the people’s decision with open heart.
“I am sad as the chairman of Pejuang, but I accept the people's choice and I hope that the winning party will form the government.
“Because Pejuang lost all 125 contested areas, Pejuang could not even be the opposition.
“All Pejuang's plans for the country had to be dropped,” he said on his Facebook page, today.
He also announced that he will be focusing on writing about history and activities in the country, especially since many events that took place have not been recorded, including during the British era.
“I am also open to being interviewed by writers,” said the 97-year old.
