Zambry Abd Kadir.
BN secretary general Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir said the decision was made in the coalition's Supreme Council meeting this morning.
“The Supreme Council is taking an open stance to discuss with the parties concerned, to ensure that a government can be formed for the benefit of the country and the well-being of the people. BN asks all parties to remain calm in facing the country’s current political situation. With this stand and the results achieved, BN’s position is intact,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
A BN Supreme Council meeting that involved the main leadership of the coalition that includes Umno, MCA, MIC and PBRS, was conducted on Tuesday at Menara Dato’ Onn.
BN through a broadcast on its official Facebook page stated that the meeting was chaired by the Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also BN chairman.
It was previously understood that the meeting would be to formalise a deal between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN to form the new federal government.
