BN will remain as the opposition - Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) will remain as the opposition, said former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob.

Ismail said BN will not be forming an electoral pact with either Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Perikatan Nasional (PN) I In a Facebook post, the Umno vice-president stressed that BN will not lend their support to any coalition.

“The BN Supreme Council has made a decision to not support any coalition to form a government.

" N does not support PH or PN. As of now, BN agrees to remain in the opposition.” he wrote.

Yesterday, PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that they were in talks with BN to form the government.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had given party leaders and heads of coalitions until 2pm today to propose their prime ministerial candidate.

Intense negotiations have been going on for about three days now on which coalition will form the federal government.
