SHAH ALAM -A few videos on social media have gone viral showing people queuing in front of the Pas Office in Gual Ipoh,Tanah Merah Kelantan, purportedly to claim money for supporting Pas during the elections.

Pas Selangor election director Roslee Yusof said that the claims were untrue and that the party was only giving out funds for those who needed to go back to their hometowns to vote.

" We never asked them to vote for Pas," he told Sinar Daily today.

Roslee added that this was allowed by the Election Commission as it was just helping young voters from urban areas to go back to their hometowns.

" We never promised to pay anyone to vote for us, we are just helping as much as we can for those who really wanted to vote but could not afford to travel back to their hometowns," he said

Meanwhile Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said, the funds distributed had nothing to do with the voting procedure for the 15th General Election.

He said although the event caused a dispute between a particular group of people, a political party and its supporters, the incident was successfully resolved.
