SHAH ALAM - Actor Jason David Frank, who is known for playing the lead in the first "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" TV show, has died.

CNN reported that Frank’s representative, Justine Hunt said the 49-year-old actor died in Texas, but did not disclose the cause of death.

The representative had also asked for the public to grant the actor’s family and friends privacy, as they “come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.” Frank took on a variety of roles in later Power Rangers productions but he had always been known for his role as Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger, in the well-known 1990s series.

The franchise was invigorated with the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ series.

The devoted mixed martial artist had most recently been filming the ‘Legend of the White Dragon’ scheduled to come out in 2023.

The film was partially funded with a Kickstarter and included other past “Power Rangers” cast members.
