Police monitoring areas focusing on govt formation
KUALA LUMPUR - The police are monitoring and carrying out security duties at locations that become the focus of the government formation process.
Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya said among the locations monitored was the World Trade Centre (WTC) as well as the Seri Pacific Hotel where it was under the administration of the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD).
"The police will constantly monitor and carry out security duties in all locations that are the focus of many following the government formation process.
"The locations were under the Dang Wangi IPD administration in particular," he told Sinar on Monday.
Dellhan said the police’s main duty was to ensure public safety and order was at a good level.
The cooperation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN on Monday became more intense when the leaders of the coalitions held a meeting at the Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday announced that the PH coalition won a total of 82 seats in Parliament for the 15th General Election (GE15).
Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 73 Parliamentary seats while BN successfully gained a total of 30 seats.
