GE15: PN has majority including BN MPs
NURHIDAYAH HAIROM NURUL HUDA HUSAINKUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) is said to have already gained the majority to form a government including MPs from Barisan Nasional (BN) and without Pakatan Harapan (PH).
This was revealed by PN deputy president Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee when met at the vicinity of its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin residence, here.
"PN has finished discussing about the formation of government. We are confident that this will be settled as soon as possible.
"BN under Muhyiddin's leadership already has the majority.
"There are many MPs from various parties including BN. PH's position is as announced by Muhyiddin yesterday," he said on Sunday.
Asked whether BN's involvement would include Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Yong who is also Parti Progresif Sabah president declined to comment further.
"Maybe, there will be news soon," he said.
Earlier, the PN leaders' discussion was believed to have taken place at Muhyiddin's residence in the coalition's effort to form a government.
This follows the results of the 15th General Election (GE15) which showed that no political party gained a majority of 50 per cent from 219 parliamentary seats contested to form a government.
