Four M’sian bowlers roll into last 16 in IBF World Cup down under

KUALA LUMPUR - Four national men bowlers storm into the last 16 of the individual event at the International Bowling Federation (IBF) World Cup 2022 at the Suncity Tenpin Bowl in Queensland, Australia today.

The four are Tun Hakim Tun Hasnul Azam, Timmy Tan, Muhammad Rafiq Ismail and Mohd Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek.

Tun Hakim got the ball rolling in the opening round when he defeated Mahmood Ahmed Al-Attar of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 2-1 before Timmy downed Jaroslav Lorenc of the Czech Republic 2-0.

Muhammad Rafiq, the 2018 world champion, was in his element as he defeated Israel Hernandez of Puerto Rico 2-0 before 2012 world champion Mohd Syafiq Ridhwan bounced back from a first-game loss to edge Filipino Jordan Dinham 2-1 to cap a remarkable opening day for the Malaysian men’s keglers. - BERNAMA
