For the sake of principles, PH doesn't mind being the opposition - Adam Adli
PETALING JAYA - Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Chief Adam Adli Abdul Halim stressed that the party does not mind being the opposition as long as it did not have to cooperate with corrupted individuals.
"We as a party have a set of principles and our chief Datuk Seri Anwar himself has pointed out many times that we will not cooperate with those who are corrupt," he said when met at the PH Media Centre last night.
"If you have to be the opposition but steadfast in terms of principle it is not an issue for PH," Adam was commenting on the possibility of a hung parliament as no coalition had secured enough majority to form a government as of 2.30 am yesterday.
However today, Malaysia has woken up to a hung parliament with no party securing a clear majority to form the new federal government.
In the the most intense election the country had ever faced, Pakatan Harapan (PH) had won 82 seats, Perikatan Nasional (PN), 73 seat as of 4.30 am when the Election Commission (EC) declared the results for 219 of the 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat.
PN, in its maiden contest in a general election, performed surprisingly well to take all 14 parliamentary seats in Kelantan and all eight seats in Terengganu using the PAS logo.
