GE15: PH retains Sepang

SEPANG - Pakatan Harapan retained the Sepang parliamentary seat when Aiman Athirah Raj Muni won with a majority of 8,949 votes.

Aiman Athirah, who replaced incumbent Hanipa Maidin as Pakatan Harapan's candidate, garnered 56,264 votes to beat seven other candidates including former Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun who received 47,315 votes. Barisan Nasional's Anuar Basiran received the third highest number of votes with 31,097, Pejuang's Che Asmah Ibrahim fourth with 2,337 votes, Daud Leong of Parti Utama Rakyat was fifthwith 264 votes and Parti Rakyat Malaysia's Nageswaran Ravi received 165 votes.

Sepang experienced a high voter turnout with 83.12 percent or 137,955 of the 168,039 registered voters turned out to vote. In the 14th general election in 2018, Hanipa won the seat with a majority of 18,705 votes.

The Sepang Parliamentary seat which included three State Assembly constituencies namely Tanjong Sepat, Sungai Pelek and Dengkil in the 14th General Election was held by Mohamed Hanipa Maidin (PH).
