Foong Hin retains Kota Kinabalu with a majority of 23,783 votes
ASYIKIN ASMINKOTA KINABALU – DAP Chan Foong Hin continues to retain the Kota Kinabalu Parliamentary seat when he managed to get a majority of 23,783 votes.
According to the official results of the Election Commission (EC), Foong Hin obtained a total of 31,359 votes and defeated Parti Warisan (Warisan) candidate Yeo Yan Yin with a total of 7,576 votes.
Three other candidates, namely from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Yee Tsai Yiew who got 4,592 votes, Winston Liaw Kit Siong from the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) who got 456 votes and the independent candidate Marcel Jude got a total of 137 votes lost the deposit.
The Kota Kinabalu Parliament has a total of 74,059 registered voters and a total of 44,120 votes and a turnout of 59.57 per cent.
