PEKAN - A total of 20 people from five families from Kampung Tasik Mentiga, Chini who lost contact after their area was flooded were taken to the polling centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Mambang here.

Acting Civil Defence Officer (PA) in Pekan, Lieutenant PA Aznor Hafizi Ahmad said, all voters were brought to the polling centre from 7.30am to 1pm on Saturday.

We successfully carried out the task of transferring voters from out-of-contact areas to the polling centers until it was completed," he said in a statement on Saturday.

He informed that a total of two officers and 10 members were involved in the operation which was assisted by the Chini Fire and Rescue Department and Police.

He explained that five fibre boats were involved in the operation.

"We managed to get the voters to carry out their responsibilities with the cooperation of all parties," he said.
