GE15: Turnout statistics for polling day at 70 per cent

SHAH ALAM - The Election Commission (EC) informs that the turnout statistics for the voting day of the 15th General Election (GE15) is at 70 per cent.

The commission confirmed this at 4pm today, and the voting has been reported to end at 6pm.

Today is the polling day for Malaysians from all over the country and many have been seen coming to the polling centres since morning to cast their votes.

EC had informed that a total of 21,173,638 individuals are eligible to vote in this year's 15th General Election.

There are 20,905,366 ordinary voters in the country, another 146,737 are from the armed forces (and their spouses) while 118,794 are police personnel and their spouses.

There are also 2,741 absent voters who are based abroad, according to the commission.
