Floods: 32 areas still under monitoring

SHAH ALAM - Floods are still being monitored at 32 areas in Selangor today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said so far all the areas were still under control and they were constantly monitoring the situation.

"Based on the record as of 8am, there are still 32 areas under monitoring involving Sepang, Sungai Besar, Kuala Selangor, Tanjung Karang, Bestari Jaya and Shah Alam.

"The total number of victims placed in temporary evacuation centres (PPS) are 1,153 people consisting of 299 families," he said, today.

Norazam said the number of active PPSs was 13, in the Kampung Johan Setia Mosque, Taman Gemilang Hall, Dengkil Public Hall (Cemperai), Bukit Changgang Community Hall, Sekolah Rendah Agama Dato Ahmad Razali, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Dengkil and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Labu Lanjut.

He said the other locations were at Kampung Labu Lanjut MPKK Hall, Dewan Hala Cara Baru, SMK Jeram, Dewan BNO, SK Bandar Baru and Balai Raya Kampung Blok A Sawah Sempadan.

"The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department has stationed 90 personnel for periodic patrols as well as housing 10 boat assets and 10 machineries," he said.
