MARANG - PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang was among the early birds, casting his vote at Sekolah Kebangsaan Rusila at about 9am here today.

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for the Marang parliamentary seat was accompanied by his wife Puan Seri Zainab Awang Ngah and son Dr Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, the Batu Buruk assemblyman.

Abdul Hadi was seen mingling with the public as well as supporters outside the polling centre and was also seen chatting with other voters while waiting in line for their turn to cast their votes.

The Marang parliamentary seat sees a four-cornered fight with incumbent Abdul Hadi being challenged by Barisan Nasional's Jasira Othman, Pakatan Harapan's Azhar Abdul Shukur and Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) candidate Dr Zarawi Sulong.

Voters were seen arriving at the SK Rusila polling station as early as 7.30am, aided by clear skies providing a break to the constant rain the region has seen in the past week.
