GE15: PN 'aircraft' draws in crowd
People began to fill up the area to get a closer look at the aircraft replica.
The crew chief, Mat Piah Hat, said the situation caused the entrance to the village to be congested since about 3pm as many visitors wanted to stop by and pose for photos with the replica.
According to him, the employees had to control the congested traffic which trailed for about eight kilometres, because of an influx of vehicles coming from outside of the area.
"The congestion is about eight kilometres long from 3pm to now (7pm) because they want to stop by to see the replica up close," he said.
According to Mat Piah, it is likely that the visitors were on their way back to the village to vote in conjunction with the 15th General Election (GE15), but stopped by the area.
Earlier, Sinar Harian reported that a group of supporters of Kampung Batu Besar Pas stole the spotlight with the creation of a replica of a Boeing aircraft to express support for the party.
The replica was modified every time of the general election and this time, an 'aircraft' themed Perikatan Nasional (PN) was prepared for the GE15 campaign.
