GE15: Khalid Samad denies moving to Titiwangsa because he was not accepted in Shah Alam

KUALA LUMPUR - Pakatan Harapan (PH) TItiwangsa candidate Khalid Samad said his move to the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat is not because he was no longer being accepted in Shah Alam.
Khalid said he was placed in the constituency based on his experience as the former Federal Territories minister when PH was in power.
" In the 14th General Election (GE14) I gained around 55,000 votes. There were 22.000 votes for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate and 15,000 for the PAS candidate.
"There were 37,000 voters who did not vote for me, meaning not everyone will support me.
" It is time, after three terms (as the Shah Alam MP), for me it's enough," he said during the Awani Agenda programme on Thursday.
The Titiwangsa Parliamentary seat was previously held by former Women, Family, and Community Development Minister and
Bersatu candidate Datuk Seri Rina Harun.
According to Khalid during GE14, the PH leadership had originally wanted to give the seat to Amanah.
He said it was given to a Bersatu candidate at the time because the party wanted a seat in Kuala Lumpur.
" The leadership considered me for Titiwangsa for GE15 now as I have the best chance (in winning the seat)," he said.
