Anwar bombards me relentlessly, hoping that I fall and he’ll be the PM - Muhyiddin
SINAR HARIAN REPORTERPAGOH - Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim raised the attacks towards him after realising the majority of Malaysians will not support Pakatan Harapan (PH) on the polling day this Saturday.
Due to this, Muhyiddin said the PH chairman constantly bombarded him with attacks with the hope for him to fail.
"He had made multiple claims towards me. He (Anwar) can see that his party will not gain the support of the majority.
"He bombards me relentlessly in hopes that I fall and he will become the prime minister," he said during his speech at Jelajah PN Best Final in Pagoh.
Muhyiddin denied all claims made by Anwar towards him allegedly claimed land and money when he was the Johor Menteri Besar.
He stated Anwar's accusations were classified as slander.
"Wallahi, I did not do it, such accusation by Anwar is slanderous.
"Slander is much worse than killing. He is panicking, there are only a few hours left until people decide to vote, he saw his party not gaining the attention of the people," he said.
In the 15th General Election (GE15) campaign, Anwar made several claims against Muhyiddin.
Anwar previously accused PN as the wealthiest political coalition because they had received multiple projects worth billions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The PKR president had also claimed Muhyiddin had released multiple projects without a tender towards certain parties while he held the prime minister position.
Muhyiddin challenged Anwar to reveal the statement of his party's account.
The challenge was accepted by Anwar with the condition that the Pagoh Parliament PN candidate does the same.
