Karupaiya's passing a great loss to PH and the 'reformasi' struggle - Saifuddin

SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the passing of M.Karupaiya is a great loss to the party and its "reformasi" struggle.

In a Facebook post today, Saifuddin announced that the PH's Padang Serai candidate for the 15th General Election (GE15) has died.

Karupaiya was 69.

"With great sadness and sorrow, I would like to inform that Karupaiya has passed away, today.

"The last time we met was on Nov 14, during a ceramah in Kulim, Kedah.

"(At that time) he delivered a brief speech and we raised our hands together at the end of the speech by PH's chairman.

"His passing is a great loss to PH and its "reformasi" struggle," Saifuddin wrote.

Karupaiya was a former Warrant Officer 1 of the Malaysian Armed Forces and was head of the Padang Serai PKR division.
