Residents of Kampung Meligan, Tadom Salat 53, claimed that the Kampung Meligan Water Plant project and the solar hybrid had been abandoned, resulting in them not receiving clean water and electricity supply currently.
"The plant has been constructed but we have never used the water from the pipes and as for the the hybrid solar project that area has become a forest as it is abandoned.
"Right now we only depend on gravity water supply even though the plant has been completed for the past four years and has ended up being a wasteful project ," he said when met by Sinar Harian, in Kampung Meligan recently
Tadom said, if the plant were operational, it can meet the needs of the people in three other villages near Kampung Meligan.
Meanwhile, the head of Kampung Long Pasia Yakub Sim, 57, wants the hybrid solar project to continue after being delayed for a long time.
"We want the hybrid solar project to be worked on for the convenience of the villagers here because it has been built since 2017 but until today there has been no concrete implementation
"We hope Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) candidate Datuk Matbali Musah can help us with an open heart so that we get the same benefits as other regions," he said.
Yakub added he hopes that their village will get a water filter so that the people in several surrounding villages can enjoy cleaner water.
"While waiting for the supply of clean water to be distributed to the residents, we also hope that a gravity water filter will be donated so that we can enjoy clean water.
"The gravity water we get is not clean and is red in color, that's why we need a filter before it is distributed to the residents' houses," he said.
