JOHOR BAHRU - Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has challenged Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to present evidence on claims that PN is the richest political coalition at the moment.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president said Anwar was accusing them without presenting any evidence to back his claims.

"He said PN is the richest party, but where is the evidence? If you want to prove it, show me the bank account between the leader of PN and PH. Anwar Ibrahim, can you show me?

"If he has evidence, then show it. If he doesn't, mean he's a liar and voters shouldn’t believe it.

"In fact, we are a new party, we don't have big resources, we rely on people who want to help our fights, that's all," he told reporters after attending the Sembang Petang Bersama Abah programme at Taman Sri Stulang, here today.

Also present were PN candidate for the Johor Bahru parliamentary seat Mohd Mohtah Yacob.

On Tuesday, Anwar, who is also the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president, claimed that PN has become the richest political party at the moment due to billions of ringgit worth of projects during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anwar claimed that during Muhyiddin's reign as Prime Minister, many projects were issued without tender to certain parties.

Meanwhile, Muhyiddin also slammed Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid's claim that he described the relationship between Bersatu and Pas as a muta'ah (temporary) marriage.

He instead pointed out that the BN coalition was undergoing 'mufarakah' (separate) process since their big defeat in 2018 during the 14th General Election.

"In terms of politics our relationship is pretty good, they (Umno) say it's possible for fear that our support is strong enough.

"There is no such thing (on muta'ah) but BN which is mutaah then mufarakah (separated) 14 (component parties) are now only three (Umno, MCA, MIC)," he said.

Earlier, Mahdzir, who is also the Rural Development Caretaker Minister, claimed the Pas and Bersatu coalition as a muta'ah marriage because the leadership of the two parties like to issue contradicting statements.
