KLUANG - Barisan Nasional (BN)’s victory in the Johor State Election that took place in March this year has set a benchmark for Johor BN's efforts in the 15th General Election (GE15), says Johor BN chairman Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad.

The candidate for the Simpang Renggam parliamentary seat said the state BN was putting equal effort into facing the GE15 as it did during the state election.

"What we went through eight months ago (March) became a benchmark for our work, which means the programmes that we carry out and the way the candidates approach the voters are more or less the same,” he told reporters today.

The former Johor Menteri Besar said this when asked about his views on the Johor people’s acceptance of BN after he attended a get-together session with the Simpang Renggam community at Taman Srijaya, Renggam, here.

In the meantime, Hasni said he realised the issues in GE15 were different, hence the state BN had to resort to various methods to explain them to the people, adding that BN had the advantage to do so following its victory in winning 40 of the 56 state seats in the state election. - BERNAMA
