GE15: Paralysed yet determined policewoman arrives early to cast ballot

MELAKA - Determined to fulfil her responsibility Corporal Siti Nor Maslinda Nordin, 43, arrived at the Melaka contingent police headquarters at 8.15 am, despite her physical limitations, to take part in the early voting process for the 15th General Election (GE15) today.

Siti Nor Maslinda who is partially paralysed was wheelchair-bound and upon arrival, she was greeted by the Election Commission (EC) workers who then brought her to the polling station.

When met by reporters, Siti Nor Maslinda said she was involved in an accident in 2009 after she finished her shift at the Parit Police Station in Bandar Sri Iskandar in Perak.

"I had just finished working at the General Division of the police station and was on my way home when the car I was driving skidded,” she said.

She said she came to cast her ballot with her husband who is attached to the Alor Gajah district police headquarters.
