GE15: Tian Chua prepared to meet Anwar tonight
KUALA LUMPUR - Batu Parliament Independent candidate Tian Chua states he is prepared to meet Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the mega ceramah at the Batu constituency tonight.
The former Batu MP said there were three things that would be proposed to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman.
"Firstly I have moved the grassroots and voters want to see him (Anwar) becoming the prime minister, that is clear among Batu voters.
"A majority of Batu voters reject Barisan Nasional (BN) and want to see me becoming their people's representative," he told Sinar Harian after visited the early polling centre in the Sentul District Police Headquarters (IPD) on Tuesday.
Tian Chua stated his fight were in line with PH's goals.
"Even though I have left PKR, I am still loyal with the principles of PKR's struggle that I was a part of," he said.
He admitted there were PH supporters who were not satisfied with his actions to contest as an independent candidate.
"When we hold a correct stance there is a risk and this struggle is long-term and we will prove it with our actions.
"It was the same during the reform era, many said why make a mess, stir chaos in the country, but I am confident with the principles I held.
"I will still continue to struggle, maybe at the time things we wanted to do were not visible and finally I was convinced that my friends became aware of the stance being right," he said.
The former PKR vice president constests as an independent candidate in the Batu Parliamentary seat in a 10-corner clash for the 15th General Election (GE15).
He faced BN candidate Datuk A Kohillan Pillay, P Prabakaran (PH), Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) candidate Wan Azliana Wan Adnan, P Naganathan (Warisan) and Azhar Yahya from Perikatan Nasional (PN).
