PUTRAJAYA - The voting process for individuals infected with Covid-19 will be carried out quickly in the 15th General Election (GE15) to avoid the risk of infection.

Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman Dr Azmi Shahrom said that Covid-19 patients needed to inform health officials of their health status before they go out to vote.

"Health workers will isolate the Covid-19 positive voters and accelerate the polling process," he said when met by reporters after an inspection at the early voting process at the Putrajaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) on Tuesday.

He said this when commenting on the voting process for Covid-19 positive individuals on early voting day and during GE15 voting.

Previously, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said all individuals who were positive for Covid-19 must wear face masks when they cast their votes on voting day, this Saturday.

Voters who were Covid-19 positive were not allowed to board public vehicles including e-hailing and were prohibited from stopping at any location before and after voting.
