KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the 15th General Election (GE15) should be postponed if the flood situation gets worse.

He said it is not the right time to hold an election when the county is facing such an adversity at this time of the year.

“It is wrong to hold elections during the time that there are usually floods in Malaysia and nowadays the floods are much worse than before,” he told reporters after his campaign speech here, today.

Several states in Malaysia have been affected by floods causing thousands of people to evacuate to temporary evacuation centers (PPS) earlier this week.

Meanwhile, when asked whether Covid-19 patients should be placed in another building during polling day, he said wearing a face mask would be adequate.

“I think wearing a face mask is adequate but you have to make sure they wear good quality ones,” he said
