SHAH ALAM - Claims that BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will become the Prime Minister should the coalition emerge victorious in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) is a complete fairtytale.

According to Umno vice- president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob he had always been Barisan Nasional's ( BN) choice as the Prime Minister candidate.

Ismail stressed that opposition leaders had no other issues to play against BN, but to speculate about the prime minister's post.

"Maybe they (opposition) are afraid that I am still BN's prime minister candidate.

"That's why they are trying to confuse the voters, they definitely want BN and Umno leaderships to split "The entire BN and Umno leadership including Zahid Hamidi, Tok Mat (Mohamad Hasan) and others have clearly stated that I am BN's one and only prime minister candidate," he said in an exclusive interview with FMT.

Ismail Sabri who is contesting the Bera parliamentary seat, said the decision for him to be the coalition's 'poster boy' and the country's 10th prime minister candidate, had never been reversed and thus still stood. The issue of Zahid as a Prime Minister candidate has been played out since the beginning of the election campaign period. Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders have warned voters that 'a vote for BN is a vote for Zahid as prime minister'.

He pointed out that Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) had proven that they were incapable of forming a stable government.

Ismail said that BN had always been clear about their goals for the nation.
