PETALING JAYA - Barisan Nasional (BN) Damansara candidate Tan Gim Tuan wants to hold a public referendum for those affected by Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) elevated highway within 100 days of his service if elected as Damansara MP for the 15th General Election (GE15).

Tan Gim Tuan recently recommended holding a public referendum on the PJD Link to allow citizens to express their opinions and promote transparency.

Tan stated that he is against the PJD Link, but still wants every Damansara resident to understand what it is all about and thus has proposed a public referendum.

Tan said during the Meet The Candidates Session organised by MyPJ that he intends to promote good governance, transparency, and environmental protection in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development goals.

“So I think all these things you must be transparent to create good governance, so let the people decide once they have seen all the facts and figures,” Tan said.

Tan also stated that he inquired about Pakatan Harapan's (PH) pledge of no tolls.

“If it is still on, then why does the state government under PH still agree to this PJD link to go on, to me, that's a question, and everyone has to answer.”

In addition to Tan Gim Tuan, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Lim Si Ching and Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Gobind Singh Deo also attended the programme for the Damansara Parliament.
