Kelana Jaya LRT line to fully operate from 6am tomorrow, says Wee

SHAH ALAM - Caretaker Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong has announced the LRT Kelana Jaya Line will be operating tomorrow onwards, two days earlier than scheduled.
He said he has boarded the public transport to review and test the effectiveness of the system and operational security.
He said affected users will receive compensaion for seven day fares despite the termination service was for five days.
“I am satisfied with the analysis on the extensive tests that has been carried out.
“After the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) confirmed the stability of the control system automatic train (ATC) and declare that the Kelana Jaya line is safe to operate,” he said in a statement, today.
He further said the service will operate from 6am onwards tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Kumpulan Prasarana Malaysia Berhad President and Chief Executive Officer Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, in a press statement, said APAD has confirmed the stability of the ATC system and declared the Kelana Jaya Line LRT service safe to operate based on analysis of extensive tests by Rapid Rail technical experts and OEM Thales Group.
He said they are grateful for approval given following the suspension of Kelana Jaya Line LRT five days ago.
“Now we can return to providing the best service to all passengers.
“Monitoring of the system will continue to ensure it remains stable and the services can run safely.
“We once again emphasise that the decision made is for the safety of the users and the opening of the service earlier than scehduled is expected to reduce the difficulties faced by public transport users, especially those using the Kelana Jaya Line LRT,” he said.
Prasarana and Rapid Rail has extended their apology to all Malaysians who were affected by the interruption of the Kelana Jaya Line LRT service.
“Every effort will be taken to ensure that this kind of disruption will not happen again,” he assured.
