SHAH ALAM - Lawyer Syahredzan Johan hopes to change laws in Malaysia by entering into the political arena.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) Bangi candidate said some of the laws remain oppresive and stops people from questioning the government.

“Instead of protecting, it is oppressing,” he said on Sinar Daily’s Politically Frank.

He added changes at the top level of the country is needed to esnure justice is served.

“That's why I joined politics, I want to make a better Malaysia so that everyone can have justice,” he said.

Asked why he chose to be with DAP, he said his values are aligned with the principles brought by the party, that mirrors his own morals.

“I have looked at all the political parties in Malaysia and I realised that DAP is the one that I want to be with to fight for democracy, a better Malaysia so

it was not really a big surprise that I chose the party,” he said.

Adding more, he stressed that the party is part of PH which is a coalition that is willing to give multiracial nation a go.

He said he wanted to ensure that the rights enshrined in the federal constitution are protected and respected by the government.

“I wish to see Malaysia that is better, that can stand proud and tall in the eyes of the world, that is why I join politics and that's why I fight so that we can have a better Malaysia for Malaysians,” he said.
