Batu people wants MP who can walk the talk

KUALA LUMPUR - The residents in Taman Beringin in the Batu constituency are looking for a Member of Parliament who can help them in terms of infrastructure, road upgrades and business developments.

Taman Beringin Community chairman Ahmad Afendi Abdullah urged the next elected representatives to focus on public interest issues in the neighbourhood.

"We want the next the MP to cater the people's need, fix the transportation and infrastructure issues as well as things related to education.

"Majority of the people in Taman Beringin are Malays, so we are looking forward to the mosque being redeveloped into a more comfortable one," he told Sinar Daily when met yesterday.

Ahmad Afendi said road congestion and public transportation services remains top of the list when it comes to the people here, which insist of about five thousand people.

Resident Alyaa Mohamad Nor, who is in her late 30s, expressed hope that more school bus services for children to be established.

"I have been living here for the past 25 years, all we want is more roads to be built and school buses for kids.

"Since most of us stands from B40 community, I hope the future MP cater to our needs," she said.
