Number of flood victims rises to 1,359 in six states

SHAH ALAM – The number of flood victims in the country rises to 1,359 involving states like Selangor, Penang, Kedah, Melaka, Johor and Kelantan.

National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) in a statement on Facebook said Selangor recorded the highest number of victims with 903 flood evacuees.

This was followed by Kedah with 233 victims, Penang (75), Kelantan (62), Johor (57) and Melaka (29).

The statement said for Selangor, 217 families in Klang and Kuala Selangor were involved and placed in temporary flood relief centres (PPS).

In Kedah, 60 families in Bandar Baharu and Kulim were moved to five PPS at Surau Kampung Batu 18, Dewan Masjid Sungai Seluang, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Permatang Tok Dik, SK Sri Limau and Surau Taman Sang Kancil.

In Penang, 23 families were placed in two PPS while in Kelantan 15 families were evacuated to the PPS.
