SUNGAI BULOH - Caretaker health minister Khairy Jamaluddin has told former premier Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that he is in the right party.

He also thanked Bersatu president for complementing his work ethics.

Khairy, the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Sungai Buloh said: "Thank you Tan Sri for giving good comments about my work quality and I worked hard when he elected me as Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme coordinating minister."

Khiry said this during his campaign at Restoran Asam Pedas Selera Melayu Melaka Dewan Serbaguna Matang Pagar, Kampung Matang Pagar, here.

He said that people are aware of what he is capable of, his work quality and what he can deliver for the country.

"Regarding the party, we have to agree to disagree, he's from Perikatan Nasional (PN) and I am from Barisan Nasional (BN)," Khairy said.

Yesterday Muhyiddin said Khairy is qualified to become Malaysia’s prime minister in the future but he is in the wrong party. "Khairy managed the Covid-19 situation well and has a bright future ahead of him but he is in the wrong party," Muhyiddin was reported as saying.

Khairy is contesting for the first time in Sungai Buloh after Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan was announced to be contetsing Khairy's Rembau seat.

While campaigning in Sungai Buloh, Khairy had expressed his desire to become the prime minister.
