Man arrested to aid in investigations of the death of a civil servant
SANDAKAN - A man has been arrested to aid investigations into the death of a civil servant, which happened at the Batu 6 area here yesterday.
The 30-year old man was arrested following the death of the 36-year old victim.
Sandakan District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said he received a call regarding the incident at 11.47am.
"After receiving the relevant information, a team from the Sandakan Police Headquarters (IPD) was sent to the location and investigations found the victim was a local 36-year old woman.
"A man was arrested immediately after the incident to assist in the investigations and the case is still being investigated regarding the relationship of the victim and the man," he said in a statement today.
Abdul Fuad said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
He urged the public with any information regarding the incident to come forward with the information to the police.
"The public can forward any information pertaining to the case to Investigating Officer Assistant Superintendent R Jas Dwed Sidin at 013-3598455," he said.
