GE15: Shahelmey will get an important position if he wins Putatan seat : Bung Mokhtar says

PUTATAN - Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin has promised an ' important position' at the Federal level for Datuk Shahelmey Yahya (BN) should he win the Putatan parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15). Bung Moktar said this was to ensure Sabah BN would have a representative that is authoritative at the Federal level.

"I am confident in our candidates Datuk Shahelmey chances, I have discussed with him earlier, first is to focus on winning and then I will ensure he would gain an important position at the Federal level.

" This is so that we have a representative that is the best to represent Umno and BN in Sabah," he at the Youth Voters Lepaking programme in Kampung Sipanggil yesterday.

When asked about Sabah BN's and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) choice for Prime Minister, Bung said that whatever the party decided they will follow.

Commenting on the issue of the campaign materials that were destroyed, he said that teams from both BN and GRS are working on repairing the materials. "We did not expect this would happen because of it we had ordered all parties to prepare a 'squad' to repair our equipment, flags, advertisement boards and such.

"Maybe this was due to winds, vandalism and such. These matters are unavoidable, but we have looked into having a dedicated team to perform repairs to the materials," he said.
