Ask former MPs about the money spent, Nurul Izzah says
SHAH ALAM - People should start questioning former MPs on the money spent during their term, PKR vice-president urges.
Nurul Izzah Anwar said people had the right to question the MPs about how the people’s money was spent, while the MPs should be able to explain the money spent in their respective constituency.
"With the provisions given, people have to question the former MP before parliament being dissolved, what they did with more than RM3 million.
"They should be able to explain how many schools received aid, how many poor people received food baskets, and how many schools and houses were developed.
"This is the time for people to start questioning MPs and that is our right as voters," she stressed during her speech on 'Ayuh Malaysia' in Pendang, Kedah which was broadcasted live on their Facebook page.
Nurul Izzah said the act of questioning MPs was mainly to make sure that poor people were given proper aid, schools were well-taken care of, sufficient infrastructure and flood mitigation measures were carried out to combat the issues.
"People should ask all these questions to their (respective) MPs since it is the duty of people to elect their leaders," she said.
Prior to that, Nurul Izzah claimed that Bagan Datuk incumbent MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi failed to channel necessities and allocation to the local residents there.
She highlighted the bad conditions of the roads with high risk of accidents in the area as well as the darkness on the roads at night as there were no lights.
