KUALA LUMPUR - RapidKL takes an additional step by adding 40 free intermediate buses to transport affected passengers following the closure of 16 stations on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line, starting tomorrow.

Rapid KL in a statement on Wednesday said Rapid Bus had the cooperation of Smart Selangor and Mara Liner which provided 20 buses from respective companies.

The statement said that Rapid Bus currently provided 83 buses to accommodate the high number of passengers.

The total number of intermediate buses to over 120 was to accommodate passengers on five lines of LRT Line 1: Ara Damansara Station – Pasar Seni Station, LRT Line 2: Ara Damansara Station – Kelana Jaya Station, LRT Line 3: Kelana Jaya Station – Pasar Seni Station, LRT Line 4: Pasar Seni Station – Masjid Jamek Station and LRT Line 5: Masjid Jamek Station – Dato' Keramat Station.

"To increase the number of staff at the station to strengthen passenger movement control, a total of 80 people among Prasarana staff will be assigned at the stations to assist passengers in terms of providing guidance for intermediate buses," according to the statement.

For passengers affected by the service disruption, Rapid Rail would provide free daily fares of service interruption to LRT users of the Kelana Jaya Line, which would be implemented after the route service was restored.

"Detailed information will be announced in the near future. We will inform the public of the development of the LRT Kelana Jaya Line from time to time through social media and mass media channels," the statement read.
