ARAU - Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak specifically asks his daughter Nooryana Najwa to make Perlis the first state for her to campaign to help Barisan Nasional (BN) win the 15th General Election (GE15).

Nooryana said the former BN chairman expressed dismay at the current political developments in the Arau Parliament.

"When I met Datuk Seri Najib, he expressed dismay at what happened in the Arau Parliament.

“This is because he does not like to hear news of riven within the party.

"Please remember when Datuk Seri Najib in a distressing time facing his court cases and even now in prison, he never turned his back on the party at all.

"He has always defended the party because he believes that what we have now is because of the party.

“We gained a position, be a minister or chief minister, help the constituency, that is all because of the party," she told reporters here on Wednesday.

Also present was BN candidate for the Pauh state legislative assembly Syed Atif Syed Abu Bakar.

A businessman who is also the former Umno Arau Division deputy chief Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman was chosen as the BN candidate.

Nooryana said the former BN chairman hoped the party's electoral machinery would unite and focus on the GE15 campaign.

In the same update, she said his father was proud of BN's decision to feature new faces made up of professionals.

"He is proud that there are also many candidates who are professionals and new faces that the party has nominated.

“He thinks this is good for the party especially to appeal to young voters.

"The message from Datuk Seri Najib is that we should work hard and fully defend the fate of the people and BN alone can give stability to the country.

"For the past four years, we have wasted time with a weak government so we need to have a big, strong mandate so that we can move forward to secure a bright future, especially for our young voters," she said.
