SHAH ALAM - Public transport users are in rage after LRT distruptions at fifteen stations along the Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT) line were shut down temporarily due to an unspecified technical issue.

They want the services to be restored immediately as prices of e-hailing services skyrocket due to the sudden surge in demand.

PH Petaling Jaya candidate Lee Chean Chung on his Facebook said he will be holding a press conference tomorrow to give suggestions on ways to improve the system.

“I was notified that the public transport LRT service is delayed again during peak hours.

“A while ago I was at the Subang LRT to review the latest situation. Many people are stuck, I ask for patience and hope that LRT Rapid can take immediate action,” he said on his Facebook.

“Two days in a row this week LRT Kelana Jaya face this issue and yet based on my reading in this election all parties @barisanasional @pakatanharapan_ @PerikatanM @PejuangRasmi has yet to propose a solution to this in their manifesto.

Another Twitter user @BernardGT urged Pakatan Harapan (PH) to look into the matter if they win the 15th General Election (GE15).

Many social media users also seemed to be asking Rapid KL if the services would be fully restored tomorrow because they needed to plan their trips if the services were still disrupted.

Earlier today, LRT services between Kelana Jaya and Ampang Jaya stations were terminated from 11pm tonight due to technical issues, affecting 16 stops along the way.

Rapid KL in its Twitter account has encouraged passengers to use free feeder bus services up until 12.30am tonight to help the passengers reach their destinations.
