SUNGAI BULOH - Sungai Buloh BN candidate Khairy Jamaluddin describes the ‘Pelancaran Pelan Amal dan Usaha' (Padu) tabled by the coalition as something realistic.

He said the BN manifesto brought forward by Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi did not promise the moon and the stars.

"At the same time, many efforts in Padu were to strengthen governance in terms of democratic institutions (and) institutions to prevent corruption.

"We will not forget towards the focus of strengthening the governance of our country," he said in a press conference after a care visit at the Saujana Utama Community Clinic, here, on Tuesday.

Zahid, when, he tabled the BN manifesto on Monday said the welfare of the people, stable economic growth, creating more job opportunities and education were among the coalition's priorities in the 15th General Election (GE15).

The Umno president said the Padu manifesto outlines the five main focuses and 99 offers that would be enjoyed by various groups of people especially the B40 and M40 without forgetting the T20 group.

The Health Minister was satisfied with the manifesto tabled.

"Firstly, I view the commitment towards the health expenditure to be great. Five per cent from the Gross Domestic Products (GDP) and this figure I have presented for the public health expenditure two months ago were five per cent from the GDP and was included in the BN Padu manifesto.

"The second was the multitude of initiative introduced to the youth. Many incentives regarding the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), 'upskilling' (and) skills programme," he said.

He said the initiative submitted was important to strengthen the country's economy along with prioritising the youth.

"The prospect of youth are from their training and higher education. I want to see many protections given to them such as gig workers (who) all this time had not received it, with BN Padu manifesto, they would be given protection.

"Let's not forget the question of welfare where those who earn RM 2,000 or below would be given a care package," he explained.
