Embarrassing and should not happen, PH Shah Alam candidate says on frequent change of PM the last term
SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for Shah Alam parliamentary seat Azli Yusof said the scenario of changing prime minister in a short while is very embarrassing for the country and should not have happened.
Hence, Azli said PH wanted to prove that they were capable to govern the country, restore the national economy as well as serve the people so that the country would be respected worldwide.
“I don't want to have another 22 months of dooms, and then we change the prime minister after 17 months, it is a shameful thing.
“Give it some time to give the mandate of power to the people, five years of governance and those who govern the country need to do their best to fulfill the people's wishes,” he said
Azli said this during the Sinar Live program entitled ‘YB boleh ‘go’ ke?’ on Sunday (Nov 6).
Commenting further, he said there were cases where universities abroad used the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal as its case studies.
“There are case studies in universities abroad using the 1MDB scandal at the MBA level and the issue of abuse of power. It is embarrassing
“PH is determined to restore the country from associated with such things, the main thing we want to do is restore the stability of our country,” he added.
Meanwhile, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for Shah Alam Dr Afif Bahardin who was on the same live programme with Sinar Live, insisted that he did not ‘jump’ from the party, but was fired by PKR leadership.
Afif said when he was a Seberang Jaya assemblyman, he was given a show-cause letter and eventually fired by the party after he served the people
“In 2022, when I was serving the people in Pulau Pinang, I was called and got sacked from the party but I never jumped out from the party,” he said during the programme.
He reiterated that he was just a victim but was eventually given a chance by the voters to serve the people in Permatang Jaya and Permatang Pauh.
Now that was running for candidacy in Shah Alam, he said the people in the area were clear about what they wanted for the state and the country.
“In Shah Alam, people understand and they are clear what they want to hear, what I want to do for the people of Shah Alam and the country in the future,” Afif added.
Previously, Bersatu Supreme Council member Azmin Ali and PBM secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad also claimed that they did not jump out from PKR but instead were sacked from the party.
