KUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional has promised to offer one million jobs, provide assistance to the poor and bridge the gap between various races in Malaysia if it wins in Nov 19 polls.

In launching its GE15 manifesto, PN President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin also assured a public holiday if PN wins elections.

"I believe if PN is given a mandate, we can do it and even more efficiently.

"During Covid, rakyat lost their source of income. We can't let this happen. Hence, we prepared funds and this fund were given to employers so they could keep their staffs without having to close their shops," he said.

Due to that 163,000 companies and 3 million jobs were saved, Muhyiddin, the former premier said.

To help the poor

Muhyiddin also said his coalition which is part of Pas will focus to help the poor.

"I know a lot of people went poorer due to Covid and currently struggle to live," he said, adding that they will set up one stop agency to provide subsidies to the rakyat.

"We also will reduce poverty and to bridge the gap between different races," he said.

He also promised to hike allowances of lower grade civil servants.

Health

Muhyiddin said PN will look at ways to improve the quality of health among Malaysians and the senior citizens.

"We will implement a hollistic approach as the nation deals with an aging society," he added.

Education

Muhyiddin said they will strengthen the education system to esnure it is on par with international standards, including spending RM2.5 bil for school maintenance.

Orang Asli and minority groups

PN will focus on bridging the development gap between cities and rural areas, including looking into Malaysia Agreement 1963.

"Development in Sabah and Sarawak will also be looked into," he assured, further adding that he will also have policies to connect rural to urban areas.

B40 and affordable homes

Muhyiddin also promised to offer affordable homes for youths and to help them reduce PTPTN loans by 25%.

He said his coalition will also look at boosting youth skills with digital economy.

Felda and farming

Muhyiddin promised to strenghten the Felda by getting youtsh involved in high yield farming.

He further assured to modernise the fishery sector.
