GE15: GRS-BN had no understanding from beginning: Shafie
SEMPORNA - The clashes of seats between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Barisan Nasional (BN) may be due to a lack of mutual understanding between the two parties from the start.
Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the coalition was in the interests of the leader himself and was is not out of sincerity for the people.
"Indeed, there was no understanding from the beginning. This understanding was only to be used, for example when Muhyiddin (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) became Prime Minister, he emphasised that the basis that was sung was the voices of the people's interests, the interests of our country needed to merge to govern Malaysia.
"So, their Prime Minister joined Umno, joined Pas, then Umno overthrew him, replaced (him with) Ismail Sabri (Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, then Ismail Sabri was also overthrown.
"This coalition is not a sincere coalition, including in Sabah.
“GRS is not a coalition of the people of Sabah, (but) a coalition of the greed of these leaders," he said when met after a program with the people, in Kampung Panji, here.
He said this to reporters when asked if the clash between GRS and BN in some seats would give Warisan an advantage.
Meanwhile, when asked about the entire process of nominating candidates for representatives from Warisan, he said that everything was in order.
"I received daily reports from Kedah just now (Saturday), as well as in Perlis and the nomination of candidates in Pandan, Ampang and Wangsa Maju and they stated that quite a lot of supporters accompanied them to become Warisan representatives including in Johor," he said.
