Tian Chua contest as independent in Batu, Prabakaran upset

SHAH ALAM: Chua Tian Chang, better known as Tian Chua - will be contesting in the Batu parliamentary as an independent candidate for the the 15th General Election (GE15).

The Star reported that the former PKR Vice President was spotted arriving at the Batu nomination centre at SMK Sentul Utama, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah at 8am today.

He was quoted saying that he has not resigned from PKR but was prepared to face any action from the party.

“I am here because I made a promise to Batu constituents in GE14 that I would come back to see to their expectations,” he said.

Tian Chua arrived with supporters wearing white T-shirts saying “I’m back”, and the group chanted slogans including “Hidup Tian Chua”.

The MalayMail reported that incumbent Batu MP P. Prabakaran was dissapointed with his predecessors’s action seeing that it was already a crowded seat.

He said he had “mixed feelings” when Chua arrived.

“But the party will take the relevant action against him. Because as deputy chairman of Wilayah, I feel disappointed at his selfishness,” he was quoted saying.
