GE15: Najib's son among 42 candidates to contest in Pahang state seat

The state BN Chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said Datuk Nizar Najib will be contest at Peramu Jaya state seat replacing the previous holder Datuk Seri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali who will be contesting the Pekan Parliamentzry seat.
He said the candidates for both state seats in Cheka and Sabai were not announced.
"As a whole, Pahang BN has 63 per cent of new faces for all Parliamentary and state seats, featuring eight new faces from 14 Parliamentary seats," he said.
For state seats, 42 seats would be contested with 27 new faces. Of the total, 34 seats would be contested by Umno and six by MCA, Wan Rosdy said while announcing the BN Pahang Parliament and state seats.
Also present was caretaker prime minister and the Bera incumbent Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Rosdy who would defend the Jelai state seat said 30 per cent were youth candidates under 45-years old.
"For the Parliamentary seat there's two candidates while in the state seats there are 15 candidates or 36 per cent of them under 45-years old.
"We are confident this is a recognition by BN towards the youth involved simultaneously contributing directly towards the governance of Pahang and the community," he said.
BN Pahang will contest in 14 Parliamentary seats. They are Datuk Ramli Mohd Noor (Cameron Highlands), Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad (Lipis), Datuk Seri Hasan Ariffin (Rompin), Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah (Paya Besar) and Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said in Kuala Krau.
The Pekan Parliament seat would be contested by Sh Mohamed Puzi, Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Nazahar (Kuantan) and Datuk Seri Ismail Mohd Zukarmi Abu Bakar.
MCA will be contesting Bentong (Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai) while the Indera Mahkota seat will be contested by MCA President's special officer Datuk Quek Tai Seong.
In GE14, Pahang BN won nine of the 14 Parliamentary seats and 24 of the 42 state seats.
