We’re not comfortable with ‘nomad politician’, Faizal Azumu tells Anwar
KUALA LUMPUR - Perak Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the politicians are not comfortable with ‘nomad politicians’.
He said politicians should work to serve the people and not for their personal ambition.
He further said that it was obvious that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should sort out his priorities as a politician where he should not focused on his ambition to be the next prime minister.
“We, the politicians, are not comfortable with those who act like ‘nomad politician’.
“We should work to serve the people, not because of ambition to become the prime minister.
“I think Datuk Seri Anwar did not have this as his priority since becoming the prime minister is a crucial thing to him,” he said when met after PN candidates' announcement at Mitec, here, on Tuesday.
However, he said it was up to Anwar to contest on whichever seat he wants.
He expressed his hope for the 15th General Election (GE15) to proceed smoothly and he said there was no need for any party to divide the people.
It was reported that Anwar Ibrahim would contest the Tambun parliamentary seat.
He confirmed this at the launch of the PH convention held at the Ipoh Convention Centre on Oct 20.
Faizal won Tambun in GE14 with a 5,320-vote majority against BN’s Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah and Pas' Ibrahim Zakaria.
