Azmin to compete in Gombak, Faizal Azumu in Tambun

KUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) Elections Director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is officially contesting in Gombak while Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu will contest in Tambun parliamentary seat.

This means that Azmin, who is the Gombak incumbent MP would contest against Selangor MB Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari who represented Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Umno Selangor Relation Chairman Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin who would represent Barisan Nasional (BN).

Meanwhile in Tambun, Faizal would contest against PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

When asked about his confidence in winning the Tambun seat, Faizal said it was not just him competing in the election but also PN as a team.

He said they were confident of the services they have provided to the people for the past five years.

“Of course, we will also fix what we can, but we are confident that our voters in Tambun really know us well and they will continue to give us their support.

“We will go out and campaign,” he said.

He also commented on the possibility of two candidates of prime minister in Perak, which are Anwar and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Faizal said that was not possible since he alleged they were working together only decided to compete in Perak out of all states because they were playing each other out.

Meanwhile, former National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan would contest at Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat.

Previously, he contested in Pendang during GE14 but lost.
