Tangga Batu Division Chief Datuk Seri Mohamad Ali Mohamad said he including Umno division chiefs as well as the Parliament Voting District Centre (PDM) chairman have agreed and received a unanimous decision made by the party.
He said as party members and in the spirit of loyalty they are prepared to receive anyone ordered by the leadership to contest in the Parliament related to ensure the seat returns back to BN.
"We will work hard and ensure BN's victory.
"What is important is that the government formed after this is BN that could defend the fate of the people," he said to reporters during the press conference in his residence at Baitul Tariq Klebang, here, on Monday.
When asked whether the division would boycott or close the PDM the Umno state Deputy Chairman stated the matter would not happen, but the area's machinery would continue to set up the works to aid the MCA candidate.
"The meeting with 70 Parliament Umno Division chiefs and 24 Tangga Batu Parlaiment PDM earlier unanimously agreed to work hard and ensure BN's victory," he said.
He said even though Chinese voters in Parliament was around 24 per cent, he was confident with the wisdom as well as the maturity of voters to choose a party that could stabilise the government instead of looking at an individual representing a party.
"The order was released on Monday (handed over to MCA), previously this Parliament was represented by MCA (before the boundaries of the Batu Berendam Parliament) thus, in Tangga Batu we have no issues.
"We are confident that the Tangga Batu people would choose BN because we have a multitude of races that will form and defend the entirety of the people," he said.
In GE14 the Tangga Batu Parliament witnessed the clash of three corners siding towards the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Rusnah Aluai that bested the BN candidate Datuk Zali Mat Yasin as well as Pas candidate Zulkifli Ismail with the majority of 4,659 votes.
The seat incumbent was chosen as a PKR candidate again for the election to defend the seat taken from BN.
